The Hernandez Family
In 2004, José Luis Hernandez relocated his family from Chicago's suburbs to Indianapolis, Indiana with big dreams of providing service to what was then a small Hispanic community. He opened the first Mi Mexico off Franklin Road and had been serving the community until his passing in 2012.
After his father's abrupt death from cancer, Ivan Hernandez took over the family business. Carnicerías Mi Mexico is not only Ivan's father's dream but his legacy that Ivan proudly continues. They plan to continue expanding and providing for their community.
What started as one small store has grown into three locations across Indianapolis, serving as the heart of the local Hispanic community where families gather, traditions are preserved, and everyone is treated like family.
"Our customers aren't just shoppers—they're our extended family."
— Ivan Hernandez
